Guidelines for International Trade Union Development Cooperation

FNV supports about 150 projects a year in developing countries. Which requirements have to be met by a project? Which organisations are likely to get our support? All about this and more you will find in the Guidelines and the Handbook for International Trade Union Development Co-operation.

The FNV and the Nordic trade union organisations have agreed upon joint guidelines to facilitate international co-operation and communication between partners.

As funding organisations, we hope that these guidelines will help us meet requests for assistance from trade union organisations in our own countries as well as from the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), Global Union Federations (GUF’s) or trade unions in developing countries.

These Nordic-Dutch Guidelines are supplemented by a few annexes: the Handbook of Participatory Project Planning part I and II, a format for the auditor’s report on the financial statements and a project application form. They should be regarded as useful tools, not as absolute requirements.

The guidelines are available in English, Spanish, French, Russian and the Nordic languages.

The documents are in pdf file. If you wish to receive a pdf file as Word document, or if you wish to receive the guidelines in an other language (see above), please send an e-mail to Jeanine Garmers .

FNV Formats for budgeting and reporting
FNV Mondiaal has introduced a format for budgeting and reporting. To improve the efficiency of the reporting and monitoring of projects we ask our partners to use these formats. Please note that these budgeting and reporting formats ony apply to projects with FNV Mondiaal.
